As a child, I always had a dream of opening my own business. Growing up in a tiny village in Orange Walk Town, Belize, I found it difficult to achieve all my dreams and aspirations there. I came to San Pedro in 1987, but after working for other restaurants and resorts, I still was not satisfied. In 1993, I married my wife, Ms. Ana Patricia Reyes and, together, we opened our own fruit shop. While this venture was successful, it is not what I envisioned long term. After several years, I decided to pursue my real dream of opening my own restaurant. To boost my experience in the food and beverage industry, I temporarily moved to South Beach, Miami, where I obtained skills while working my way up in the industry. When I returned to San Pedro, I finally realized my lifelong dream and, in 2002, Caramba! was born.
Through my passion, Patricia’s hard work, the diligence of our staff, and with the loyalty of our customers, Caramba! became very successful in a short period of time. Today, Caramba! remains a family-owned business with our two sons, Renesito and Jonathan, now actively involved in the day-to-day operations of our family restaurant.
